The Banares Clan Information Service (BCIS) will be formally launching its new clan website on Feb. 16 to coincide with the 78th Birth Anniversary of Onesimo "Oning" Banares. The website is currently undergoing various site constructions and improvements to provide better service to clan members on the world wide web. The founder of BCIS, Rodel Banares, is the son of the late Onesimo & Edita Banares.

Miel Banares David Appeals to Clan Members to Give to

Miel David, daughter of Vic and Ruth Banares-David is appealing to clan members to support VSO Bahaginan, an international Development Charity fighting global poverty here in the Philippines. In a letter addressed to the Clan, Miel appealed to the generous spirit of clan members in order to raise funds for the projects of the organization. Miel is a volunteer of VSO Bahaginan. LANLAN BANARES EUSEBIO HOSPITALIZED
Lanlan Eusebio, youngest son of Orlan and Lisa Banares-Eusebio was hospitalized alst January 23 for still unknown reasons, according to sources close to the family. More information to come.

Plans of Rene Banares to Run for Bgy. Captain of Mapulang Lupa still uncertain
The rumored plans of Rene Banares, son of Roger and Ning Banares, to run for the position of Captain in Barangay Mapulang Daga (Lupa) in Bacacay, Albay is still uncertain, following reports that Rene may have a problem with campaign funds. The COMELEC has allowed the candidates of Bgy. Captains in the last barangay elections to utilize posters for their campaigns.Rene, it is reported, is still gathering financial support for his political endeavor. Last elections, another clanster, Abel Basmayor, ran for the position of Municipal Councilor as an independent but lost to his opponents.

PRAYERS FOR HENRY BANARES REQUESTED
Clan Elder and former albay MCTC Judge Henry S. Banares is suffering pains brought about by his failure to continue medication, her daughter Emily Banares-Basbas said in a text message to sister Lisa Eusebio. Henry is reportedly complaining of stabbing pains in his stomach. The children of Henry are requesting for the pious readers' prayers.
JESUS AND LINDA BANARES ARRIVE FROM DUBAI
Jesus and Linda Banares of COGEO, Antipolo, Rizal, arrived in Manila January 5 after a month-long vacation in Dubai. The couple stayed with their daughters Lorna Banares-Espares and Maricar Banares and spent most of their time touring the various tourist destinations of Dubai.
KATRINE BANARES SALES WINS PC IN INQUIRER X'MAS CONTEST
Katrine Sales, eldest daughter of Mario and Ruby Banares-Sales won a Personal Computer from the Philippine Daily Inquirer in the newspaper's christmas wish contest. Here is a copy of the PDI clipping dated 20 December 2006.

NEW WEBSITE UP AND RUNNING
The Banares Clan website is already up and running. Soon we will be removing some blogger-hosted pages which have already been transferred from blogger to bravehost. We will retain this page which will soon sport a new look. This page will soon become the new clan news page, which can be accessed via www.banares.bravehost.com.
Right now, the new website's pages and links are all operational, except for the webcast and opinion pages.

Happy New Year!
Another year over, another year on its way. May the new ring in peace, prosperity, unity and abundance to all of us! The Banares Clan Website (yes, website!) will be up and running in a few weeks. We've been busy creating this page so that all the different blog pages will be consolidated into one website. Watch out for it.
