HEIRS OF ONESIMO BANARES TO MEET WITH ILLEGAL OCCUPANTS OF THEIR SAN MATEO PROPERTY ON OCTOBER 27
The heirs of Onesimo Banares are set to meet with the illegal occupants of their 1,900 square meter lot in Bgy. Ampid Dos, San Mateo, Rizal. The occupants, which are also co-signatories in a compromise agreement with the parties are in violation of the agreement. According to a portion of the agreement, the respondents (illegal occupants) should undertake to vacate the lot not pertaining to them upon execution of the compromise agreement. The heirs of Onesimo will find out tomorrow if the occupants will leave peacefully or not.

BILIDAY BANARES-SUBIDO NEEDS TO UNDERGO DIALYSIS ONCE DISCHARGED FROM STA. MONICA HOSPITAL - DOCTOR
In a text message sent to BCIS by Jun Subido, husband of Biliday Banares-Subido, he said that doctors of Biliday have recommended that she undergo imemdiate dialysis after discharge from the hospital. The family of Biliday is asking for relative's prayers and financial support.

BILIDAY BANARES-SUBIDO RUSHED TO HOSPITAL ANEW
Biliday Banares-Subido was again rushed to the Santa Monica Hospital in Marikina City, according to a text message sent to BCIS by Biliday's husband Jun Subido. Her status is yet unknown but as of press time today (OCtober 19, 2007, 10:45 am) BCIS Adminsitrator Rodel Banares is scheduled to visit Biliday at the said hospital, bringing a little financial aid from a source who refused to be identified.

EXPLOSION ROCKS GLORIETTA 2 MALL IN MAKATI; 3 DEAD, MANY INJURED
BCIS received a call from a source saying an explosion rocked the Glorietta 2 mall in Makati City an hour ago. The explosion is believed to have been caused by an LPG tank explosion, but no confirmation has yet been given out by the police. According to TV Network GMA News and its website www.gmanews.tv, the explosion happened at the Luk Yuen restaurant in the said mall. Police are still investigating the explosion.

Jose Banares ready to sell Dreamland
In a report reaching BCIS from Bacacay, Albay, sources indicate that Jose "Peping" Banares, who, for the longest time has been the sole obstacle in the sale of Dreamland Beach sent his son Alex as emissary to Henry Banares (representing the rest of the heirs). Alex relayed to Henry his father's desire to sell the Dreamland Property.

ROSARIO, CAVITE PLACED UNDER STATE OF CALAMITY; CLAN RELATIVES IN ROSARIO INCOMMUNICADO
Following the devastation brought about by Typhoons Chedeng and Dodong, the town of Rosario in Cavite has been placed by the Cavite Provincial Government under a state of calamity. As of 9:00 pm of August 10, relatives in Rosario, Cavite remain unreachable via cellular phone.

BCIS PODCAST UP AND RUNNING
The BCIS Podcast is now up and running. The first news from RP and the talk show "Familia on-air" aired today in the Banares Clan Website. BCIS Administrator Rodel Banares said this is the final realization of the globalization of the BCIS.
AURORA BARRAMEDA CHECKS OUT OF PGH
In what can only be described as a miracle, Aurora Barrameda was released from the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) after being given only a few weeks to live by no less than two reputable hospitals. Aurora was diagnosed with cancer of the marrow. Aurora is now staying with her sibling in Pasig City.

CANDY PIMENTEL ARRIVES FROM CANADA
Candy Pimentel, wife of Vincent Banares Pimentel, arrived from Canada early this morning, according to Vincent. Candy's trip to Canada was related to her work at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) based in Los Banos. She was met at the airport by Vincent as well as co-employees of Candy from IRRI. The couple are now in Los Banos. On Tuesday, June 19, Vincent will leave for a one year stint as safety officer for one of the sub-contractors for Saudi Aramco in Saudi Arabia.

BILIDAY BANARES-SUBIDO: NO FUNDS FOR MEDICAL CHECK-UP
In a phone interview with BCIS Administrator Rodel Banares, Biliday Banares-Subido revealed that she still does not know whether she will need to undergo dialysis or not because of lack of funds for a medical check-up. Biliday is again appealing to clan members for help. She says that the medical check-up is long overdue. The check-up is vital to find out if she needs to undergo dialysis or not.
AURORA BARRAMEDA CONFINED AT PGH
As of 8:30 pm tonight, Aurora Barrameda's condition is stable, according to nephew Jayrald who spoke with BCIS, although there is blackening from her toes up to the lower calves and her hemoglobin count is low. Aurora was confined to the Philippine General Hospital and is suffering from Cancer of the Bone Marrow. Aurora is 59 years old. The Barrameda family is asking the Banares Clan and all relatives to pray for Aurora.

Dianne Banares Avila arrived with mom Dina today from Legaspi, Albay, according to dianne's cousin Aljon in a phone conversation with BCIS. Dianne was awarded a college scholarship by the University of the Philippines and was a scholar of the Philippine Science in High School in Bicol.

BILIDAY BANARES-SUBIDO RELEASED FROM HOSPITAL; AWAITS DIALYSIS
Project 4, QC -- Biliday Banares-Subido was released from the Quirino General Hospital May 16 after being confined for treatment of her cervical cancer. She was operated on a couple of weeks before her release. She is currently recuperating at their home in Project 4 and is awaiting funds so she can undergo dialysis. In a telephone interview this morning, Biliday appealed to clan members to help her financially so she can immediately undergo dialysis. VINCENT BANARES PIMENTEL OFF TO SAUDI IN 2 WEEKS
Vincent Pimentel confirmed to BCIS that he is off to Saudi Arabia in a couple of weeks after receiving the go signal from his employers in the Middle Eastern kingdom. Vincent will be working as a safety officer for a subsidiary of Saudi-Aramco.
RODEL BANARES RECEIVES PASSERS CERTIFICATE FROM CSC
Rodel Banares recently received his Career Professional Certificate from the Civil Service Commission. Rodel took the Civil Service Professional Exams in 2004 and thought he failed the exams. Only recently did he discover from the CSC website that he passed.

Balik Banua and Grand reunion Eyed by October (UPDATE 04-12-2007)
Plans are in the offing for a balik banua cum grand reunion of the Banares Clan in Bacacay, Albay by October, preferably on the Semestral Break. there are suggestions however to hold the reunion on the date of the Bacacay Fiesta. This was met with disapproval after many contended that few people will be able to attend the reunion on that month. Others are still hopeful that an impormptu reunion cna still be held before the entry of the rainy season.
Vincent Pimentel off to Saudi? (04-12-2007)
Vincent Pimentel, son of Ruben and Norma Banares-Pimentel is consdiering accepting an offer to work as safety officer for a subcontractor of Saudi-ARAMCO, one of the biggest oil firms in the middle east. This was confirmed by Vicnent who said that everyhting is still he is still thinking about it. He is currently employed as safety officer on an oil rig platform somewhere in Palawan.

1st death anniv of Edita C. Banares commemorated
Family and friends of the late Edita Cacanindin Banares flocked to the residence of Vic and Ruth Banares-David in Tandang Sora, QC to commeorate the 1st death anniversary of Edita. Present were relatives from Antipolo, Roxas District, Cavite, Cogeo and Project 4 as well as friends of Edith's son Rodel, and even family friends such as the Basmayors of Makati, friends of Edith from Angelicum and Romy and Alex Libongco, owners of Dulcinea. Mario "Ayo" Sales named interim candidate of PDP-Laban for Vice Mayoralty post of Candelaria
Mario "Ayo" Sales, husband of Ruby Banares-Sales, was named interim candidate of the PDP-Laban Party as Vice Mayor of Candelaria, Zambales last week. Mario and wife Ruby went to the headquarters of PDP-Laban in Makati during the couple's visit to Manila over the weekend. Ayo ran for and won as councilor of Candelaria last elections and headed several committees including budget and appropriation, sports and youth development and agriculture. Mario is related to Senator Aquilino Pimentel Jr.
Chloe Ortiz Dingong's baptism slated for March 10
Chloe Dingcong, daughter of George and Chiqui Ortiz-Dingcong will be baptized on March 10 at a church in Industrial Valley, Marikina City. The baptism will also coincide with the birthday of their son Gavin. Chiqui, Chloe's mom, is the daughter of Cesar Banares Ortiz to Bes Ortiz.
Land Title of Onesimo Banares in San Mateo turned over to heirs
After years of waiting, the title of the Ampid property awarded to the late Onesimo Banares as attorney's fees was finally turned over by his clients to his heirs last week. the property is a 1,900 square meter parcel of land in Barrio ampid, San Mateo, Rizal. The property is valued at over P4 Million. The property is still being contested by a third party which filed an adverse claim to the property at a San Mateo court. Atty. Alberto Sales, lawyer for the heirs, said that the property is rightfully the property of the heirs of Onesimo, as per order of the San Mateo RTC a few years back.

The Banares Clan Information Service (BCIS) will be formally launching its new clan website on Feb. 16 to coincide with the 78th Birth Anniversary of Onesimo "Oning" Banares. The website is currently undergoing various site constructions and improvements to provide better service to clan members on the world wide web. The founder of BCIS, Rodel Banares, is the son of the late Onesimo & Edita Banares.

Plans of Rene Banares to Run for Bgy. Captain of Mapulang Lupa still uncertain
The rumored plans of Rene Banares, son of Roger and Ning Banares, to run for the position of Captain in Barangay Mapulang Daga (Lupa) in Bacacay, Albay is still uncertain, following reports that Rene may have a problem with campaign funds. The COMELEC has allowed the candidates of Bgy. Captains in the last barangay elections to utilize posters for their campaigns.Rene, it is reported, is still gathering financial support for his political endeavor. Last elections, another clanster, Abel Basmayor, ran for the position of Municipal Councilor as an independent but lost to his opponents.

NEW WEBSITE UP AND RUNNING
The Banares Clan website is already up and running. Soon we will be removing some blogger-hosted pages which have already been transferred from blogger to bravehost. We will retain this page which will soon sport a new look. This page will soon become the new clan news page, which can be accessed via www.banares.bravehost.com.
Right now, the new website's pages and links are all operational, except for the webcast and opinion pages.

Happy New Year!
Another year over, another year on its way. May the new ring in peace, prosperity, unity and abundance to all of us! The Banares Clan Website (yes, website!) will be up and running in a few weeks. We've been busy creating this page so that all the different blog pages will be consolidated into one website. Watch out for it.
