Natividad Banares, widow of Mariano Ortiz celebrated her birthday at her residence in Project 4, Quezon City last December 25. Present to grace her birth anniversary were siblings Jessie and Norma and in-laws Ruben Pimentel, Editha Banares and other relatives. The party started around lunch and ended after dinner.

WELCOME TO THE CHRISTIAN WORLD, LUIS PIMENTEL

Luis Pimentel, firstborn son of Vincent Banares Pimentel and wife Candy, was christened in simple ceremonies in the town of Pangil in Laguna last December 18. Vicnent and Candy's friends and close relatives were present to witness the occassion. Among those present from Vincent's side were the proud grandparents from Antipolo, Ruben and Norma Pimentel, Vincent's sister Karen with husband Gil Consunji, aunts Edith and Deliah, cousins Rose and Rodel Banares and April Bermas. A reception followed at the Kainan sa Palaisdaan in Bay, Laguna.

LINDA M. BANARES, RUBEN PIMENTEL CELEBRATE BIRTHDAY IN COGEO

Linda Mallari Banares, wife of Jesus "Jessie" Banares, and Ruben Pimentel celebrated their birthdays on December 16 at the residence of Jessie and Linda in Cogeo, Antipolo City. Present to join the birthday celebrants were Linda and Jessie's children Ricky and Bobby with wife Aileen and their children Lyca, Bea and Carl. Also on hand were Edith Banares (widow of Onesimo Banares) and her children Rose and Rodel, Norma Pimentel (wife of Ruben Pimentel), April Bermas and Lani (niece of Linda). After dinner, Linda's daughters Lorna and Maricar called from Dubai to wish their mother a happy birthday.

JESELENE DELA CRUZ AND FAMILY ARRIVE IN MONTREAL

Jeselene Banares-Dela Cruz, husband Mark Dela Cruz and their 2 children arrived in Montreal after migrating to Canada. They left Manila on December 10. Jeselene and family are still adjusting but her sister Marites sent us pictures of Jeselene and family in Canada. Alex and Lisa (Banares) Eusebio Anniversary

A simple gathering of close friends and family was held at the residence of Alex and Lisa Eusebio in Hiultown Subdivision, Antipolo on DEcember 10 for the couple's wedding anniversary and post-birthday celebration of their second son Ace Louie. Among those present were church mates and neighbors of Lisa and Alex, and some relatives including Ruben & Norma Pimentel and Editha vda de Banares.

Clan Caravan Planned for Cavite; Clanmates Enjoined to Participate

Plans are underway for a clan caravan which will deliver assistance to relatives in Cavite. The plan, dubbed as "Familia Caravan sa Cavite" will be a pre-Christmas drive for relatives in Cavite. CLAN CHRISTMAS PARTY TO PUSH THROUGH

The traditional clan Christmas Party will push through on December 25 at the residence of Natividad Banares vda. de Ortiz in Project 4, Quezon City. The traditional Christmas get-together coincides with Natividad's birthday which falls on Christmas Day. The venue was moved from Project 4 to Julie B. Ortiz-Chai's residence in Wac-Wac, San Juan a couple of years before the latter and her family migrated to the United States. Now, the traditional get-together will once again be held at the Ortiz's residence along P. Tuazon Ave., Project 4, Quezon City.

Banares-Sales children perform in Malacanang, The Podium

The two youngest children of Ruby Banares and Mario Sales, Gerone and Leonilla Editha, performed with the Bolipata group's Pundaquit Virtuosi last December 3 at the press room of the Malacanang Palace. They were accompanied by their mentor Coke Bolipata, renowned Filipino Violinist. Afterwards, their group performed at the Podium to the delight of the mall's patrons.

Karen Banares-Pimentel weds Beau

Karen Pimentel, daughter of Norma Banares and Ruben Pimentel was married to boyfriend Gil Consunji in simple yet elegant ceremonies at the Parkridge Estates Clubhouse on the morning of October 29 this year. The wedding was officiated by Pastor Paolo Punzalan of the Victory Church and were the bride and groom are members. Relatives and close friends of the bride and groom were present to witness the holy union. Reception was held afterwards at the second floor of the clubhouse were a sumptuous buffet awaited the guests amidst the beautiful music of the Serenata Strings group. The couple left the next day for their honeymoon in Bohol.

Meralco promotes energy conservation

Amidst calls for energy conservation, Meralco and Abenson have joined forces to promote the wise use and purchase of electric appliances. To guide consumers on electricity usage, Meralco has installed the Meralco Appliance Calculator or MAC at Abenson Stores in Shangri-la Plaza Mall, Sta. Lucia East Mall, Harrison Plaza and QUAD, Makati. The MAC is a computer-aided device that computes the consumption amount of common household appliances like television, air conditioner, computer, refrigerator, etc. This will help guide consumers on how to utilize their household appliances. Use of the MAC Info Kiosks is absolutely free of charge. Shown in photo is the recent unveiling of the MAC at Abenson Shangri-la Plaza Mall. The MAC may also be accessed through the Meralco website.The ceremony was headed by (from left) Ms. Ruth Banares-David (Meralco Sr. Asst. VP and Customer Service Office Head), Mr. Mike Lopez (Meralco Asst. Vice President and Marketing Head) and Mr. Winston Lim (Abenson Business Development Manager).

GAUDENCIA “GEM” BANARES DIES AT 86

ANTIPOLO, Rizal – Gaudencia Magtuba vda de Banares, wife of the late Fidel Banares Sr. passed away July 31, 2005 after being confined for an undisclosed number of days at the Capitol Medical Center in Quezon City after suffering a stroke. Her body was interred at the Funeraria Nacional along Araneta Avenue from July 31st to August 3. She was buried beside her husband Fidel, son Joel and grandson “Em-em” at their family lot in Loyola Memorial Park in Marikina on August 3 at 3:00 pm. A dinner was held in her honor after the burial at the Shangri-La Restaurant in West Avenue, QC. She is survived by her children Edgar, Grace, Gimmina, Myra, Fidel II, Arlene, Gil, Glenna and in-laws and grandchildren.
